Eliel Primary School
We opened the Christian primary school in 2002, in order to put the children in contact with the living Word. Being a
private school, we are allowed to have devotion with the students before we start the daily session. Even ten to fifteen minutes everyday
means a lot, when we think nine months of school for six years .
We have built the school with 6 classrooms plus an office. The building work is not completely done, but we are using them. This year is the
first sixth grade, that means that the school has 6 years and six opened classes, with 360 students in them. Being a Christian school, we have 7
Christian teachers that committed themselves to teach as serving the Lord.
In addition to that, we train the kids in the making of a vegetable garden and planting a nursery for trees to restore the environment. The
environment is an important thing to protect or restore. It is where we get our living necessities. When we look back 30 years ago, we will see
that we had more trees and grass than now. What will it look like in 30 more years? That is why we want to put this important thing in the brain
of the children while they are still very young.
We aim at sponsoring as much as possible the children in our school. We are located in a very poor community. To run the classes, parents need to
pay school fees. But many of them cannot afford these fees. This year, among the 360 students, 86 parents are not able to pay the year school
fees, about 100 US $, and more than 100 are able to pay part of it. So, we decided not to cast out any child because of lack of money, and we
trust in God and good wills to provide for the balance. This action helped many children’s parents to let their children come to church, and they
sometimes come with their children to church to listen to information, and we never miss an opportunity to show God’s love to them.
