Burkina Faso Update 2008

Laafi, Laafi Bala. Good, all good.

We are all good here, because we know who Jesus is and what He did for us. In our lives and our situations, God is good. He is so good to us.

We are getting ready for another trip to Burkina, and are emailing in order to fill you in on the ministry. We are so thankful for your part in it.

Church Roofs

Providing churches for fellow Christians to meet in worship continues to be central to the ministry. By God's grace and the giving of many here in America, we have been able to put over 400 roofs on churches.

This remains a critical need. We are hoping to provide another 25 roofs on this trip. Please consider joining in this effort!

Harvest Update

The late Spring rains that are so critical to food supplies have come this year in Burkina. This is a praise to God, but we continue to pray for the needed Fall rains.

We also praise the Lord for over $130,000 raised by a special Walk for Grain ministry, headed up primarily by Josh Swanson of Grace Brethren Church in Long Beach and Denny Stahl of Calvary Chapel Grants Pass. Many were blessed and will be blessed with needed food from these gifts. Bark Wennam -- Thanks to God!

Wendpanga Bible School

The inaugural session of the Wendpanga Expository Bible school was a tremendous blessing to pastors in Burkina. Over 120 pastors were given tools to study and teach the Bible in ways that will impact their churches for years to come.

Pastor receives diploma

The second session will train another 120 pastors, and will run from September 29-October 10, 2008. Brett Meador and Bryan Fowler will join us and teach through 1 and 2 Corinthians. Jon Severson join us and teach through Habakkuk; Jerry will be teaching the book of Jonah. We are also excited to have Martha Smith join us again; she presents the no-word Bible.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for:

- Safe travel. There are many different flights involved. Please pray that the Lord would keep each person safe both arriving and departing from Burkina.

- Personal strength. we are not sure how many more times we will go to Burkina; it gets harder as we get older and have physical limitations.

- Effective minitry. There are so many needs. We desire to be used of the Lord to touch many, in His strength and power.
